If Cwm Gwaun really was 'timeless', they wouldn't be celebrating New Year's Day once, let alone twice.

It’s rare for Welsh manuscripts to have illustrations such as this peacock, and this copy of the Welsh laws, National Library of Wales MS 20143A, has a number of fun marginal drawings as well as miniatures. I’m partial to the two-headed wyvern doing double-duty catching run-ons in both columns. 1/3

A mega-rarity for Cardiff Bay yesterday - Red-breasted Merganser - the first one I've seen in the Bay in 35 years or so, found by Alex Bevan. As is oft the case for good birds in the bay it was as far from land as it could get (about 400m)! #birdingwales

While it may not sound it, my people’s #history of English #cricket proved entirely radical to the game’s gatekeepers (and traditionalist fan base)!

Comparisons with #Marx, although misplaced, welcome, however. 😅

It is that time of year when people become worried about #Hedgehogs surviving winter. Hedgehogs are designed to live all year round in the UK
not all Hedgehogs hibernate and even if they do it is not a continuous sleep therefore benefit from having access to food. Info by #GlamorganHedgehogRescue 🦔

High above Hirwaun, within a sprawling 2.5-acre churchyard, stands the now redundant St Cynog, Penderyn. The decaying, rather melancholic lychgate is Grade II listed, as is the neighbouring signpost noted as "a rare, well-preserved example of Breconshire style." #FingerpostFriday

Amazes me that you can see a bird like this Dipper almost in the centre of Cardiff. This was taken on the dock feeder canal near where it comes off the Taff at Blackweir. 100s of people walking within a few metres and oblivious to it being on the stream below them #birdingWales #birds #ukbirding
