Any European distributors for Tricycle Magazine (@tricyclemag.bsky.social) ? I was subscribed to the print edition for a long time, and suddenly a couple of years ago I stopped receiving it. I tried to find out why, but in the end I gave up because it felt like there was nothing I could do and

Looking at what Apple announced this year, it confirms once again that I made a good choice with iPhone 13 and I should stick to it, just like I've been doing for the last couple of years.

I'm using Kagi more, especially the "Small Web" feature. A long time ago - hundreds of internet years or 1000s of TikTok microtrends - there was a thing called "StumbleUpon" which I loved, as it was the best way to discover interesting things on the internet. "Small Web" feels exactly like that.

Big Think interviewed Anne-Laure Le Cunff, I like the idea of little experiments that we can use in our lives, to keep our curiosity alive:

Yaaay! 🎉
My new Spanish books are here. Started re-learning Spanish last year, and my next class begins at the end of the month.

Fun fact: it helps me understand my own language better too, especially the grammar, which I never liked when I was in school.

I'm reading "Seven Pillars of Science", by John Gribbin, a small book, but packed with information. It made me think about the gaps that I have in my knowledge, how little we were taught - or how little I understood, or both - in school about chemistry, physics, biology etc. [1/2]

We had a few days of constant snowing, something that has become increasingly rare in Romania. On one evening, the park was full of people who were taking walks, playing, and just enjoying the snow. This is how the park looked like:

Google now defaults to not indexing your content: www.vincentschmalbach.com/google-now-d...

Speaking of this, what I found interesting today is the fact that I couldn't find anything - pun intended. The results I got were mostly AI generated & neither one was useful. DuckDuckGo did the job, though.

Read an article that said that NVIDIA's CEO is advising people to not learn programming, as AI is going to make this field (and software developers) obsolete. Hyping AI sells graphics cards / GPUs, I presume?

I was browsing Linkedin a few days ago and a job posting for a Senior Frontend Dev popped up. Among the reqs for this job: AWS/Azure. Then another job post asking for DBMS, Docker and Kubernetes 'expert knowledge'. Is frontend development turning into fullstack or devops, and why is this happening?

I'm getting this option when trying to go to Facebook now. It seems that if I want no ads, I need to subscribe and pay ~10 euro / month.

What I find interesting is how Meta is actually nudging people towards keeping the ad-based version, because that's where the money comes from.
