Automatic follow-back helps trolls and bots build a false legitimacy, so don't expect it from me.

Okay, finally found the time to watch Rise Up Dead Man. Almost didn't make it to Blanc's appearance...as someone raised Catholic, even though my Church wasn't anywhere near that bad, the opening part was ROUGH. Very easy to see my childhood experience taking that type of turn with a bad pastor.

So, MASK (80s cartoon) in :Otherspace. I think the masks themselves would be Loadout, as they don't actually do enough to meet the level of Theme. Everyone would have a variant on Experimental Vehicle, with the drawback of "Civilian Disguise" (when in disguise, -1 penalty to things it tries.) 1/

This is the second time in recent memory that the goat has been destroyed by a literal force of nature. First the birds, now the winds.

How the fuck do I write *this* up?

And that getting socks for Christmas will actually be kinda cool.
I wish we could explain to small children that some day, getting in bed and going to sleep will become the highlight of their lives.

By freeing them from having to find an artist willing to put their fever dreams into viewable form, AI has allowed the worst people you know to express their inner selves through art. It's like the special glasses from They Live or 3D Man's Skrull-seeing goggles, but the monsters put them on.

And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, nonetheless did not ever do anything else interesting enough to merit appearing in any other stories. Probably for the best, though. It sucks to be a protagonist.

"There have always been two kinds of people: those who worry about their investments, and those who [use our service]." Got it, those without money to invest aren't actually people. Quiet part out loud.

PARTY: …
GM: Let me rephrase that. It’ll DEFINITELY do something.

Pet peeve: (non-collectible) card game that doesn't come with long-term storage for the cards. They come wrapped in plastic, and it's your job as consumer to find a way that will let you both play the game and not end up with a big box full of cards rattling around in it. (Rubber bands fail.)

The only thing golden about this fleet will be all the opportunities for graft. They'll spend enough to build a dozen battleships and yet nothing will ever lay keel.

Very rude of my subconscious this morning. Woke at 8:52AM from a dream in which I was not only about to be late for my 9AM class, I was missing an 8:30 commitment I'd made, AND realized after sitting in bad traffic that I'd left my phone (needed for 2FA) home.

Campus is CLOSED today.

Sports (and "sports") exist on a continuum from PvE (difficulty set by the environment, get best score) to PvP (difficulty set by other players). Racing is largely PvE with varying amounts of allowed griefing. Fencing is pure PvP. Golf is functionally a single-player PvE quarter-eater.

(Sees "LOTR Bands" in Trending, clicks on it.)

They joke, but most of this stuff shows up on Lord of the Rings Online, usually hanging out in Breetown. Hit up the Peregrine server.

(The game lets you use a plugin to play prepared music, many people multibox to be one-player bands.)

If you've ever had an art teacher tell you that comics/manga/cartooning isn't Real Art, it's not just snobbery, it's the long-lasting fallout of a CIA operation.

Pope Leo XIV just appointed Fr. Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez — an immigrant from the Dominican Republic who became a U.S. citizen in 2018 — as bishop of Palm Beach.

That’s right: the Catholic diocese that includes Trump’s Mar-a-Lago is now led by an immigrant priest who’s marched against ICE’s abuse.

In a move loaded with symbolism, the new bishop of Palm Beach — home to Mar-a-Lago — is a Queens immigrant priest known for defending migrants and the poor.
