Microplastics: Spektrum der Wissenschaft article shows that many headline-grabbing studies likely overestimate concentrations due to methodological limits. Tools for air & water don’t simply work for human tissue.

Mountaineers, scientists, and glaciers — connected by one invisible pollutant: nanoplastics.
Through the GAPS citizen-science network, we now detect nanoplastics deposition on high-altitude glaciers at tens of ng mL⁻¹.
First results will be presented at #EGU26 General Assembly.

Plastics or lipids?
Our new paper is out in Nature Medicine!
Do we really have grams of plastic in our brains?
Not really — Py-GC-MS signals can mimic lipids.
The “plastic” might just be the obesity effect — a fatter brain, not a plastic one.

AI can be used for science, espetially when you need a break from super dense multitasking work that actually never ends.
Btw, we have both sides in us, right?

Let’s address some structural issues in plastic research:

A) A large share of #microplastics & #nanoplastics papers are reviews, not primary data (doi.org/10.1016/j.en...)

B) Some highly cited, widely publicised studies have critical flaws (e.g., missing proper blanks): doi.org/10.1073/pnas...

Trying to celebrate for a couple of seconds. I always thought that if I worked hard and hit an h-index of 17–19, some nice things would happen in my career. I guess now we’ll find out.
