2026Dundee150 list currently at 86 after 4 days. It gets a lot harder from here though. Other highlights not shown include Waxwing, Great Northern Diver, Crossbill, Nuthatch, Peregrine, Shoveler, Skylark, Whooper Swan, Woodcock.

New year, new year-list. Sounds bitterly cold outside so today should be 'interesting'. Usually attempt to get 60+ species in Dundee on 1/1 but more than 45 is likely to be pushing it today, so will just have to see how things go...

Some 2025 personal highlights - White-winged Black Tern (lifer) at Monikie, my Bird of 2025 - Honey Buzzard over Riverside Nature Park, my 2nd of 2 unexpected Clouded Yellow butterflies in Dundee in Autumn & a White-rumped Sandpiper at RNP (first American wader for Dundee for me). #BirdingScotland

Selection of photos of drake Shoveler I found at Swannie Ponds in Dundee this morning. Number 152 for my 2025Dundee150 list & a very welcome surprise, in good light (mostly). Eventually showed very close suggesting same bird as last 2 winters which became confiding with time. #BirdingScotland
