My 150th species from within Dundee this year - a surprise find in Eastern Cemetery this morning on my way out to Broughty Ferry and Balmossie - a Ring-necked Parakeet. It turns out there are 'some' of these birds present in grounds of Gardyne College (0.5miles from EC).

Red-throated Diver off Beach Crescent, Broughty Ferry this morning. Took my 2025Dundee150 list to 149 with a Long-tailed Duck a bit later. Also had a possible Slavonian Grebe but very distant & pics are abysmal.

Found a Waxwing today - at Eastern Cemetery, Dundee. Except it wasn’t perched there when I raised camera to photograph the 2 Mistle Thrushes and I didn’t notice it until looking through photos later at home! Thankfully I found 1 on Saturday so not seeing this 1 wasn’t a big deal. #BirdingScotland

Broughty Ferry/Balmossie today - Adult Mediterranean Gull, Arctic Tern, 13 Little Egrets (flushed from Lucky Scalp) & Rock Pipit (possibly Littoralis race?).

Most likely to wherever they roost. Assuming you're in Dundee, the Tay. (Though birds are still arriving from their breeding grounds, so may just have been heading 'south'). Photo is from Saturday 11th, taken from Riverside Nature Park looking upriver to Kingoodie Bay. The dark patch is all geese.

An hour at Dundee Law this morning hinted that an earlier start might've been worthwhile with steady movement over - mostly Meadow Pipits, but also Siskins, Skylarks, Pied Wagtails, Chaffinches etc. Pics below - Sparrowhawk, Meadow Pipit, Kestrel and Bullfinch.

2 weeks ago today (16/9), I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time to see a Clouded Yellow butterfly - my 1st ever. Unfortunately I got 0 photos. Today I had an unexpected 2nd chance, albeit very brief, to get photos of this one at Broughty Ferry esplanade dunes. #UKwildlife
