It is a truth universally acknowledged — or rather it SHOULD be — that there are seven billion ways to begin an essay about literature, and there's really no need to keep quoting Jane over and over and over and over and over.

Elon Musk and the Trump administration gleefully shutting down USAID “has already caused the deaths of six hundred thousand people, two-thirds of them children.”

People throw around terms like genocide quite freely online but it’s hard to find other words to describe this level of man-made death.

Experts say it’s highly unusual for the White House to tell agents to give up custody of potential evidence in an investigation, as it did with the Tates.

“I’ve never heard of anything like that in my 30 years working,” an ex-DHS official said.
The White House Intervened on Behalf of Accused Sex Trafficker Andrew Tate During a Federal Investigation
Federal authorities were chided for seizing electronic devices from Tate and his brother, and told to return them, records and interviews show. Experts said the intervention was highly inappropriate.

Listen, this administration isn’t “making America great.” It’s targeting our neighbors, tearing families apart, and putting lives on the line. Democrats on Oversight are standing up because this fight isn’t about left or right. It’s about right and wrong. Period.

Yesterday, Trump defended the Saudi Crown Prince in the Oval Office.

He said he had “nothing” to do with the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

But I reviewed a call while serving on Trump’s NSC that I believe would be of interest to the Khashoggi family and the American people.

Release the transcript.

We can be upset that President Trump called a reporter “Piggy”, but let’s not forget that a great hero of the classic novel “Lord of the Flies” — Jack — used that term as an honorific when he was splitting up a shell company and helping punish an enemy of the people.

I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.
