Dr. Wally | Let’s Human Together-Curious, Reflective, Vulnerable
@drwally.bsky.social
Hello, I’m Dr Wally.
I believe humanity is one of the universe’s most fascinating experiments — and it’s up to us whether it continues.
I post reminders that we’re all in this together. #HumanTogether
For all their talk of reclaiming masculinity, it sure seems like they’re lacking any of it.

For me, Dry January isn’t about abstinence as virtue.
It’s about awareness.
Any practice that helps you better understand your relationship with something that shapes your mood, sleep, health, or connection is probably worth trying. This is my third year “checking-in” with myself.

Packing up Northwest Ohio and pointing the car toward Central Kentucky. New Year’s energy, Dry January intentions, and that familiar feeling of crossing into a different cultural (and actual) weather system.

I’ve never been very drawn to New Year’s resolutions.
What matters more to me is leaning into the values I’ve been cultivating for years: care, curiosity, responsibility, showing up with integrity even when it’s inconvenient.

Growth isn’t necessarily a reset. It’s a continuation.

Not usually one to ask—but if reasoned conversation and staying human matter to you, a follow would help push me past 400.
Grateful for this community.

Oh, Happy Day.
It’s not always so dark when I feed the cows… sometimes I get a fierce sunrise 😍

Today is HumanLight Day. Happy that!
A reminder that reason, compassion, and shared humanity still matter—especially when things feel dark.
Sometimes the light is just people choosing to stay human.

Coolest new thing I learned in the world today. The kicker for the Los Angeles Rams is the size of a defensive lineman and wears number 92. My brain refused to accept this for several minutes.

Syllabi at public institutions probably ought to be public. Taxpayers fund the work, and students deserve transparency. The problem is when the loudest megaphones with the deepest pockets (and often the least expertise) get to judge that plan. Thats just anti-intellectualism.

When Everyone Can See Your Syllabus
More states are requiring public colleges to make class syllabi available to the masses. Proponents say these measures boost higher ed’s credibility, while faculty fear being targeted.

It’s striking how the world’s harshness has followed us into the college classroom. I see young faculty and grad instructors lose their jobs after a single misstep…when these moments should still be part of their development. Surprised anyone even wants to join this profession now. #HumanTogether

Can someone please explain this to me? Last night it was 7° here. I left two half-consumed bottles of soda outside in my car. This morning I found the Diet Coke was frozen solid. The Diet Pepsi didn’t have a single ice crystal. WTH?

There’s a particular irony in a school built on dissent, critique, and social imagination responding to crisis with a strategy that silences experience and institutional memory. Efficiency is easy. Stewardship is harder.
