2025 Disease Update: Scab, Apple Blotch, Fire Blight Risk May 2–7
If the forecasted conditions come to fruition, we will have a severe infection event for apple scab, rust, and apple blotch May 2–7; and fire blight May 1–3.

When apple blossoms are open, there is a risk of the bacterial disease fire blight. Average temps 60 F + favor the bacteria in the flower to grow...watch out for wetting events like rain and heavy dew = this washes the bacteria from the stigma into the nectaries = disease occurs. Stay alert!

When apple blossoms are open, there is a risk of the bacterial disease fire blight. Average temps 60 F + favor the bacteria in the flower to grow...watch out for wetting events like rain and heavy dew = this washes the bacteria from the stigma into the nectaries = disease occurs. Stay alert!
