I was delighted today to open our #UoEPGDEp conference event 'Including All' at @morayhouse.bsky.social
Huge thanks to @kdarlingmcq.bsky.social for making this happen and to our amazing student cohort for their curious and courageous participation
Our #UoEPGDEp IncludingAll mini-conference has started. @drsuechapman.bsky.social began with a clear opening message about belonging and mattering. @kdarlingmcq.bsky.social now asks questions about the ethics of care and the relational nature of teaching.Important and grounding messages for us all.

ADHD is thinking about all the things you have to do, getting stressed about all the things, worrying about the consequences of not doing the things, but still feeling stuck and unable to do any of the things.

descriptions. The routine kindnesses.

There are many ways to measure the culture of an organisation. Routine kindness is one of the best.

There are still some work to do to improve things for Deaf teachers & future Deaf teaching students. Hopefully, this will help others to understand what it’s like to be a Deaf teacher.

there is no empirical relationship between a teacher's accent and their ability to teach. but there is a long-standing ideological relationship which frames non-dominant and non-standardised accents as signs of imagined pedagogical illegitimacy.

Very proud to work every year with TIE to explore what LGBT Inclusive Education looks like for our #UoEPGDEp student teachers @morayhouse.bsky.social (and also that we were the first ITE provider in Scotland to host Jordan, back in 2021!).
Great to see you over here @tiecampaign.bsky.social !

Attended a brilliant #BESA event this week and one of my highlights was definitely @benniekara.bsky.social 's talk, 'Do we have enough spoons? Resilience in education'. 💡One o the quotes that really stuck with me was: "Be where you are celebrated, not tolerated."👏 @hannahwilson.bsky.social

I was working with some student teachers this week and I talked about the idea of sticking with your values and subverting from within the system. I do believe it's possible and that we move forwards incrementally. Progress is slow for sure but also inevitable, even when we temporarily drop back.

Practitioner Enquiry Tip of the Week: enquiry when you are not classroom based. It is really important that educational leaders are engaged in enquiry and model process, we mustn't see it as just domain of early career or classroom based colleagues /1 🧵

It was a ‘pinch yourself’ day for me today. What a joy to be in a room with such inspiring people all sharing their expertise and experiences of play pedagogy (or just pedagogy?). I was equally inspired by our students’ insightful questions, curiosity + openness 😍 #UoEPGDEp @morayhouse.bsky.social
