Credits just rolled on Donkey Kong Bananza. Overall a very, very good game! Slightly held back by some questionable design choices but still one of the best 3D platformers ever made. If you think it's better than Super Mario Odyssey you are smoking crack cocaine.

James Gunn's Superman: I liked it! Maybe doesn't 100% work 100% of the time but it's very entertaining and when all the pieces line up just right - which happens fairly often - some really potent moments are created. The most I've enjoyed a superhero movie in a while.

Was rewatching Lord of the Rings when I noticed this weird plot hole, why does Gandalf tell Frodo the ring is cool? Doesn't he know that it's evil?

"Abbey Road" this, "Pet Sounds" that. Real ones know that the best album of all time is Kirk Van Houten's "Can I Borrow a Feeling".

I am very sad that the new Mission: Impossible is apparently more of a Dead Reckoning (bad) than a Ghost Protocol/Rogue Nation/Fallout (good).

So how long is it after becoming the new Pope that you start to unlock the memories and skills of all previous Popes?

Didn't watch as many movies as I would like to have in April due to Real Life Things coming first, but still a good month overall. If you haven't seen The Graduate you should change that, I promise it feels way more contemporary and relatable than its age would indicate.

Actual tears in my eyes. The proof will be in the pudding but every indication from the full reveal video is that they get it. I mean, the returning voice lines alone!
From the ashes, a hero shall rise... Cyrodiil calls! The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is available today!

Playing Spider-Man for a bit in Marvel Rivals really makes you appreciate how easy most other characters are in comparison

All the movies I watched in March 2025, rated and reviewed. Slightly slower month due to various commitments, but a strong one all the same. David Lynch's "Blue Velvet" has become an instant personal favourite.

I love this so much. There was absolutely no need to render Wigglytuff in this much unnerving detail, but they did it any way.

Ah fuck. I'm sad to admit it, but this works on me. They've got my ass hook, line and sinker with this one.

#moviemonday Every movie I watched in February, rated and reviewed. Bit of a mixed bag overall, but sometimes that's just the way things go. If you tolerated Alien: Romulus you need your head checking.

I finally saw the Robbie Williams monkey movie. It's not bad! Entertaining despite some obvious flaws. Americans stay losing.

A ★★★ review of Better Man (2024)
It's weird how quickly your brain just accepts that he's a monkey. Pretty entertaining! Now admittedly from a structural perspective this is the most bog standard musical biopic you'll ever see, near ...

Hmmmmm. Americans on TikTok claim they have no idea who Robbie Williams is... a week later the whole app is gone... yet still they deny His Influence.

This feels like a ridiculous question, but are there popular artists out there still composing classical music just for the love of the genre, or is it all just for movies/TV/video games etc now?
