Let’s review the Sub30 trial. The first uk study of ECPR in PHEM and lots of challenges.

Should we adopt it more widely?

I’m looking for recommendations for EM related podcasts. There seems to be lots out there covering all the sexy resus/trauma/PHEM stuff, but not much out there about the more ‘vanilla’ EM presentations.

Interesting article. A lot of what we label as refractory VF isn’t refractory at all. It’s actually recurrent.

Is there a way in which we could change defibrillation strategies or antiarrhythmic drug administration to better address this?

One off doses of antihypertensives for asymptomatic hypertension is associated with increased risk of AKI.

Similarly randomly throwing darts in the air for no reason is associated with increased risk of ADITH.*

Will this madness never end?

I'm looking back on those early covid days and remembering the early deaths among healthcare workers in the UK.

100 died by the end of April.
Approx. 1000 by the same time the following year.

The WHO estimates total deaths of healthcare workers worldwide from covid as between 80,000 - 180,000.
