Finished wolfenstein. Honestly kind of down on it. I may just not have “lean out of cover” instincts, but I suspect that leaning would still get me shot. Giant robots are a pain to fight and always spot you.

Enjoying silksong, but the farther I get the more I think I truly despise the fact that it starts you off with only 2.5 hit points.
Technically it’s 5, but if enemies that do double damage are more common than ones that don’t, YOU DO NOT HAVE FIVE HIT POINTS.

Anyway, Pluto on Netflix is really good. Kind of like blade runner but with a detective who’s known he’s a robot the whole time and is generally ok with it, so he’s got a whole different set of existential crises to have.

So Nintendo understands the value of isolation when it comes to the high fantasy Zelda franchise but not the space horror-themed Metroid. Good grief.
Innovation is one thing, but adding a comedy sidekick to Metroid is like giving Mario an assault rifle. It’s the wrong idea for tone and gameplay.

I fully agree the franchise should die if no one at Nintendo really cares to make a new one, but I can't say that's the case here and that Beyond has nothing to offer.
I let go of being a Metroid purist some years after Hunters. The franchise can't just be a string of remixed Super Metroids.

I have hated doom eternal’s marauder from day one. It’s an insipid bullet sponge. And some game design genius decided the best thing to put in the dlc was a status effect that made enemies twice as fast and gave them health pools the size of the motherfucking Atlantic Ocean.
