Very happy to be interviewed by Owen Keehnen for "Gay Chicago Memories: 1300 N. Wells." I spent a lot of time at the Bijou while pursuing my PhD. I’m glad a bit of my sexual history has been documented. As Delany and Muñoz remind us, these histories will be erased if we let them.

Yes, delighted to review the new edition of MEMORIES THAT SMELL LIKE GASOLINE by David Wojnarowicz, one of my favorite books, for @lareviewofbooks.bsky.social💥 lareviewofbooks.org/article/i-fe...

Very grateful for the Great British Sewing Bee lately. Ten seasons on Roku. I'm at the start of season five. Perfect for that background noise I need as someone who grew up with TV as a babysitter.

Someone just sent an email saying I never told them something when it happened in April. Good thing I have the email I sent in April and their response.

Never tell me I didn't do something when I have proof.

SVU marathon this week has been season one. Wow, a real view into how technology and science has changed! So few cameras, DNA analysis taking forever, and so much paper! File boxes everywhere. Lots of desk work.

The next episode in this daily "Six Feet Under" marathon on HBO is David's kidnapping, which I have not watched since it aired in 2004.

"Six Feet Under" marathon on HBO, and I'd completely forgotten Brenda was the subject of "Charlotte Light and Dark," a Sybil-esque, Sylvia Plath satire.

33 years ago, Blane and I had our commitment ceremony. Two months later, he was gone. My latest Tethered essay reflects on that day, Rafael Campo’s poem, and the gestures we keep.

"If you inherited a movie theater, what's your first double feature?"

You got your apocalypse in the everyday, your lack of safety in your own skin, your devils and your aliens, your unholy births signaling the end of it all. Each says, "You’re not paranoid. They really are coming for you."

Went to four @littlefreelibrary.bsky.social stops, dropped off a book of my late husband's at each one. Only found one to grab back since I only take books to use in my art, and I go for charts, graphs, and specialized language. This one is water-damaged but useful for me, and that's the point.

Now that it's summer, maybe it's time to try this app again. I've tried using Substack notes for my random thoughts, but that's not the place for them. Lord knows I have many random thoughts.

I received my new passport, which I renewed online, in less than two weeks. Let's hope it continues to work under new administrations.

I found the perfect excuse to break out the sewing machine -- contributing quilt panels for a community service project. I can't make the group session, but I'm excited to transform my fabric scraps into something meaningful from home. I'll post photos! #Quilting #CraftTherapy #UpcycledFabric

Yes, it's data mining and surveillance. And, yes, Virgos dream of receiving all of this data about themselves. Now that I have a working computer again, most of this listening was done in my office last semester and will likely increase this year.

There have been too many deaths around me lately, most younger than I am, not all drugs/alcohol, but enough to worry about. It reminds me of the summer Gary died, and the coroner's office was backed up for weeks.

No hate speech or personal attacks in this group of student evals. My stomach locked up the second I got the email they were available. I wish I worked somewhere where the advice I received after getting hate speech was not just to stop reading them. All that does is hide the hate.

Because I'm teaching Dickinson this coming semester, I've been watching DICKINSON since I have access when with the guys. Very little historical accuracy, ridiculous in ways that feel wholly appropriate.

I’m so going to hell with the number of JonBenet jokes I’ve made recently.

To be fair, police and journalists screwed up that investigation. The DNA doesn’t match anyone in the family!
