Mysteriously fictional, bull terrier enthusiast, intent on cracking the code. Also, why is it so goddamn cold in here?
I’m watching #DeathByLightning on #Netflix & a large portion of the action appears to take place on the beet farm owned by #DwightSchrute.

I really, really want Mose to have a cameo.

My plan to stop getting up at 4:30 every morning is going really well.

Today I got up at 4:00.

In retrospect, watching #28YearsLater in the half-empty first class cabin on that flight from Toronto the other night may have caused my fellow passengers to form Some Kind Of Opinion About Me. : -)

Let’s talk about ‘whoa.’

First of all, ‘woah’ is not yet considered an established spelling variant of ‘whoa.’

While ‘woah’ has grown in prevalence since the late 20th century, ‘whoa’ is still about 5 times as common as ‘woah.’

Home safe & I may never leave again!
: -)

<<checks fridge & mailbox>>

OK, I may never leave again right after I get back from the grocery store & post office.
There’s no place like home!

Safely ensconced in a California hotel room, so (a) yay! & (b) it’s 6 am for me, so good night! : -)

Safely arrived in North America, aka Toronto airport.

1) Lisbon street car
2) Lisbon obelisk
3) Lisbon street sign

no lions on buildings spotted today, but here’s a big statue of a guy walking a lion (I’d know who he is if that tour was good)

lots of pink buildings in Lisbon (including a pink police station), but even more buildings are covered with TILE—seems like a terrible idea, construction-wise, but sure can be pretty!
October 4, 2025 at 4:18 PM
1) a pic to show you (a) just how narrow some of Lisbon’s streets are & (b) just how many people were taking advantage of the sunshine to get some laundry done : -)

2) the castle we were SUPPOSED to see on Worst Tour Ever

Greetings from Lisbon where I experienced the worst hop on hop off bus tour ever. Totally not Lisbon’s fault—seems to be a vibrant & happening place. Perfect weather today, too. Check out that blue sky so gorgeous it almost looks solid in some of these pics.

Safely checked in to Lisbon hotel with excellent location. Pre-Cruise Millmoss apparently splurged on a fancypants* suite. Huzzah! Let the 24 hours in Portugal begin…

*Oh, I remember now, I had to book the suite to get the fridge & microwave. Tudo bem!

Tomorrow I disembark from a 54-day cruise. This morning, I returned from breakfast to find Housekeeping had pulled out my empty suitcases from under the bed & put them on top of the bed.

All right, all right, I’m leaving already! : -)

I don’t know what the culinary reasoning is behind giving me half a grilled tomato on almost every dinner plate, but Come On, Man.

Another shipboard day in Gijon, Spain, focused on knee rehab. Better today than it was yesterday.

Also, no idea what those thingies are up on the hill, but color me intrigued.

Bilbao, Spain looks amazing on this sparkly day, but unfortunately, I’m seeing it from the ship. Jacked up my knee yesterday—not a season-ending injury, but I definitely won’t be returning kickoffs anytime soon. : -)

Already feeling better, so all good here! Onward & upward.

One last Very Bordeaux pic: another fancypants monument, the carnival’s making progress & the ubiquitous tram. Adieu, France!
September 30, 2025 at 4:10 PM
Pretty skies as I made my way back to the ship along the riverfront.

Kept seeing “immobilier” around & finally looked it up: real estate! I would not have guessed it, but I suppose it kind of makes sense: there are mobile homes, but most of them ARE immobile…

Juxtaposition of “human” & the bird graphic, though, uh… Let’s chalk it up to Gallic piquancy.

Bordeaux was once a walled city. This was one of the massive gates in that wall. Impressive!
September 30, 2025 at 3:53 PM
A tale of two cities: This morning in Bordeaux, I was on my way to Victor Hugo Street when I passed the Charles Dickens pub. Sounds about right!
