Should I read my course evaluations? I work really hard, and I think I'm ok/good at my job. I'm learning that I cannot please everyone AND students are SO hurtful on course evaluations. Like not helpful, critical feedback, just mean.

Nothing makes me want to quit my job more than student evaluations - except Rate my Professors. It's gross. Like I'm working my butt off every single day and I KNOW nobody would say those things about a male professor.

I'm playing a grading game. For every not good paper I have to grade another one til I find a good paper. For every good paper, I keep grading because hopefully the next one will be good too! #academia

A colleague suggested not doing group projects bc students can't align their schedules & they're too busy. I already have them work in small groups for activities & I cant give up more class time for group projects during class. Thoughts?

Started watching The Irrational. It's essentially psych 101 in TV. The magic is lost when you have a PhD in applied developmental science! The show even says, "if you don't understand the science, everything looks like magic." 🤣
