Good to see BBC News shining a light on bipolar disorder. Our Registrar, Dr Trudi Seneviratne, told them the condition is “completely treatable”, but many people are “suffering in silence because there isn’t a good clinical care pathway for them”.

This important report has found that people with complex mental illnesses are often not able to access the care and treatment they need.

It also shows that therapeutic support provided closer to home can deliver better outcomes for patients and make better use of NHS resources.
