There’s an estimated 33,000 homeless veterans in the United States. With $45 million, our government could provide housing for 6,500 of those forgotten heroes.

First, they said postponed; now the meeting is canceled. That means no flu shots next year.

“'It’s a six-month production cycle,' Dr. Offit said. 'So one can only assume that we’re not picking flu strains this year.'"

Fundamentally, that's a form of mass murder.

From the obliteration of New College to Ben Sasse’s presidential appointment to UF to these 432 courses at FSU, the overt dismantling of public higher ed in Florida is one of the most chilling things I’ve seen in years.
"The 432 courses that were removed from General Education range from Theories of African American Studies, Critics of Religion and American Multi-Ethnic Literature to Feminism and Globalization, the Evolution of Human Sexuality and LGBTQ History."

Netflix is so wild to me. There’s a first rate production of August Wilson’s “The Piano Lesson” starring Samuel L. Jackson, Danielle Deadwyler and John David Washington and I only know about it because of a post on BlueSky.

Like, I’m watching it now while reading along and it’s BRILLIANT.
