Lovely to visit Notts County today to hear about their sports history plans. A lot of exciting plans and some potential collaboration. It was also great to see some of Meadow Lane on a short tour.

Eek. It's all feeling a bit real that my book will be hitting shelves in a few months. It's exciting but also a bit nerve-racking! I wouldn't be here without the lovely folks at @utpress.bsky.social and the wonderful staff at @icshc.bsky.social.

Had the best day at the Rugby World Cup Final. A record crowd, the top four sides in the world and England are World Champions. Amazing to see the love for women's sport.

Thanks to a funded Scholarship Project for Undergraduate Researchers, @drdavehindley.bsky.social and I worked with one of our students (Megs Bainbridge) on a project over the summer investigating the transition to first year for new students. Megs had five key findings.

A showery day at Donington Park today. But when life gives you rain showers, it also gives you rainbows! Back tomorrow for, almost certainly, more 🌧️. #MarshalLife

Feeling a bit down today and with the hubby out I'm indulging in one of my favourite passions - Shakespeare's history plays. My love of Shakespeare (I've seen all 37 plays) comes from my Dad. My love of the history plays from an inspiring A-Level England Lit teacher when we studied Richard II.

It's such a privilege and honour to take over as Chair of the @bssh.bsky.social. Being a part of this community has played a key role in my academic journey and I look forward to continuing to support our members and maintaining our reputation as a friendly space for research in the discipline.

Sometimes (esp. just before the start of the academic year) you just need to hang out in some fields for three days with your friends and listen to music! #TheLongRoadFestival

It was fantastic to be back at Peter Symonds College today to deliver three "Preparing for University" sessions to a great bunch of sports students. They engaged with all the activities brilliantly. It's hopefully the start of a bigger project and pilots at other colleges.

Great stuff from Adam Borrie. I certainly need to better understand how to use AI for my own work but also helping students. Loads of top tips to not only save time but come up with new ideas/activities for lectures. #TILT2025.

Day two of #TILT2025. @drsbroadberry.bsky.social getting us started by helping us reflect on ten years of TILT and what is to come in the next ten.

Celebrating 10 years of the NTU Trent Institute of Learning & Teaching (TILT) with some excellent cakes. Getting involved in TILT activities helped me find a fabulous community of like minded folks including @wcarey.bsky.social @edfoster.bsky.social @drsbroadberry.bsky.social and others! #TILT2025.

I always love this time of year and the NTU TILT Teaching and Learning Conference. It was great to be presenting the Peer Assisted Learning Scheme (PALS) that James Rowland and I introduced in the Department of Sport Science this year. It'll be bigger and better next year! #TILT2025

It's the end of #VolunteersWeek. Appropriately, I spent Saturday and Sunday marshalling at Donington Park. The sport cannot run without volunteers and I had a fab weekend with my #OrangeFamily. This thread goes through a bit of a day in the life of a pit lane marshal.

Beautiful reflections on last night's post-work paddle. Being on the water is so calming and just the tonic after a busy day. I was even convinced to try a bit of yoga on a paddle board and I didn't fall off! Winning all around.

Solo theatre trip to the RSC to see one of my favourite actors in Shakespeare's bloodiest play! 🥧 #IYKYK

Fantastic to see NTU's own @edfoster.bsky.social winning the EFYE Champion Award. Ed reminds us that what we are doing works and makes an impact. By trying something to support students, we are making a difference. Ed is a supportive colleague whose support I value. @efye2025.bsky.social #EFYE2025.

An important reminder for all of us teaching students as part of Anneliese Raes's keynote on day three of @efye2025.bsky.social. If you can deliver your session the same way with no students in the room, don't do it. Interesting discussions around hybrid learning spaces and their potential.
May 28, 2025 at 9:28 AM
Given that I (with the support of other fab colleagues) set up a peer mentoring system in our department last year, this is the perfect way to kick off day three of @efye2025.bsky.social. #EFYE2025.

A fantastic @efye2025.bsky.social conference dinner at De Hoorn Brewery. Fabulous food and company with the addition of some student-led drinking songs. One more day of the conference to go! #EFYE2025.

Fabulous final two presentations of day two of @efye2025.bsky.social. Both really resonated with some of the work I am doing. Lots to explore and some ideas are percolating! #EFYE2025.

A new one to me at a conference - an ice-cream van for our dessert at lunch! Fun stuff at @efye2025.bsky.social. #EFYE2025.
