I was on Reddit today, going through the book recommendations.
It's quite fun.
I don't recommend my own. I recommend other authors instead. And I know for a fact that one Bluesky author just maybe got a sale.
Or got new eyes on their work anyway. I'm happy.

Hey hey! I'm Michael, I write queer cosmic and supernatural horror.
Just one??? It's a tough call, but I think my answer is Nadja from What We Do in the Shadows. Sure, it's comedy, but she is also absolutely happy to kill. I like vamps to have a monster and a human side.

It’s Wednesday!
Time to chat about writing and writing horror.
As ever, please save links/promo for the outro and only AFTER you've answered the questions and interacted with your fellow horror writers chat folks.
Here’s Question 1 - Who will bite first?

Great job hosting #HorrorWritersChat, Mary. A few days ago, I posted a story for the #ShadowBoxArchives involving an eldritch horror and an old lady driving. It's paywalled now, but it becomes free on Sunday, link below. If anyone wants to read it before then, you have to become at least a 5$ tier.

Sometimes when I feel stuck with a piece it can help to get into a discussion about it with friends—I truly love my friends’ brains—. When that’s not an option just sitting down with a book, a videogame or whatever it is that caters to my weekly obsessions will do the trick:)

As writers, we have an inner reservoir of ideas, inspiration, and energy; our Creative Well. We need to feed often aka replenish our creative energy and inspiration.
Q4 asks about your choice of nourishment.

Engaging with any and all art forms, really. Movies, music, games, books, visual art, people watching at IRL work, eavesdropping in public convos (shhh lmao).
I struggle a lot with taking breaks to replenish, despite knowing it's a must to prevent burnout and lack of "flow".

Thanks for a great chat! I just wanted to share something cool with you all. LWF is now at my local library! It was so fun getting to see my book on display.
Also, a reviewer said that my book was like "A more serious Hot Fuzz" and I'm still tickled by that
