Twitter - like leaving a house in which you had over the years created a beautiful garden, with plants that told stories of happiness and struggles, but then (next door) they built a factory that bellowed out toxic smoke. The garden was still beautiful but the air was going to kill you.
So you move

Kidnapping the leader of a foreign state without any declaration of war and announcing it via social media is full-on rogue state stuff. From the world’s number one superpower.

Any discussion of how a few actors are protesting Trump's takeover of the Kennedy Center has to consider how Republicans have tried to slash social spending for the arts — and denigrate the arts and humanities as legitimate fields — since at least Reagan, if not longer.

The GOP has done absolutely nothing but screw over the American worker while they’ve controlled both chambers of Congress and the White House.

That is, unless your name is Donald Trump.

It appears the whole Putin “Ukraine tried to kill me with 91 drones last night” was entirely made up. And of course Trump repeated it and said he was mad at Ukraine.

Nightly Russia launched drones and missiles at innocent people.

And tried to Kill Zelensky every day

Spare me the gaslight

Like @mmasnick.bsky.social, I also said Breton's letter to Elon was extraordinarily stupid, and had very different views on how to handle antivax propaganda than CCDH. But that was CCDH's speech. The censorship is the state action happening now.

This is the right take:

Opinion | Marco Rubio is using real censorship to fight fake censorship
Mike Masnick: In the name of protecting free speech, the U.S. government just banned five Europeans from entering the country because it doesn’t like their speech.

Lobbyists who do pardon deals “say their going rate is $1 million. Pardon-seekers have offered some lobbyists close to the president success fees of as much as $6 million if they can close the deal.”
