Chartered Psychologist, Lecturer, Sport and Exercise Psychologist in Training. 🧠. Keen to share and connect over all things Psychology.
I’ve just submitted my abstract for the @bps-dsep.bsky.social annual conference. There’s still time to get your abstract in. DSEP annual conference is a real highlight of the year with a wonderful, collegiate and supportive group. Plenty of opportunities for networking too!

The managerial merry-go-round is in full swing at this time of year 🎠 with a good few teams appointing new head coaches in the last few weeks.

Here’s a really quick overview of just some of the underlying psychology processes…

An insightful article from last year, though, would be good if we could further normalise sport psych provision.

The critic in me asks the question is whether it should it take the prospect of PSG winning the UCL for this to happen?

Maybe it will 🤔

More and more of us seem to be flocking to Bluesky. I’ve got a list/feed of those with an interest in Sport and Exercise Psychology - but it’s hard work trying to keep up. Do let me know if you want to be added to the list - and if you sub to the list it should appear as its own feed.

A very important topic in the field of Sport and Exercise Psychology is the use of Artificial Intellgience (AI) and in particular Generative AI (GenAI).

We’re bound ethically to be aware of technological advances and how these impact our practice.

Home-bound after a fantastic couple of days at #DSEP2024. Lots of learning and catching up with old friends and making new friends too. So much to reflect on; but a unifying message across the conference was the importance on the strength of relationships we create.

Re-sharing this, the feed will update with my list, if you want to be included on the feed - let me know. 📲
I’ve attempted to put together a feed of all things Sport and Exercise Psychology from expert voices in the field! You should be able to add this to your home page and flick between different feeds.

As our community on here grows so will the list and feed… 🧠💭

I’ve loved football for as long as I can remember, but I’ve felt increasingly challenged by the lack of regard to wellbeing in the game. I’ve shared more in depth reflections on my #substack here: open.substack.com/pub/dralexol.... I’d love to hear your reflections too!
Feeling Torn: A Psychologist and football fan's grapple with the lack of wellbeing promotion in professional football.
A candid reflection from a football fan and psychologist on wellbeing in football (soccer) and why we need to start listening to the players.

I’ve recently joined Substack to share some reflections on working in the field of #Psychology. In my latest post I take a closer look at what we mean by “success” and would should we mean by success.

What even is success?
One of the most challenging questions I can think of!
