Joshua Clover—the start of much to reread
Rest in peace, Joshua. I vividly recall our first conversations, in the midst of the 2012 student strike in Montreal—his uncompromising intelligence, comradeliness, commitment to the real movements of our times, his poetics, all impressed me then, and on every encounter since.
Devastated to learn of the tragic and untimely passing of Joshua Clover. His revolutionary intelligence and conviction (and great sense of humor) will be missed.

Earlier today, a group of students received word that Jonathan Sterne entered hospice care yesterday following his ongoing battle with cancer. I think there's a few of his colleagues and former students that follow me on here (he's also currently my phd advisor), more info will be coming soon

I can’t imagine participating in the MLA conference in Toronto next year, and I’m curious if anyone has been organizing a more formal response—a statement from members who will continue to refuse engagement after the stifling of the statement on Gaza and scholasticide last year?

Semester two at Allegheny College is somehow underway, syllabi are essentially set, and I’m so thrilled by how keen my students are for critical, historical approaches to queer and trans studies.
