I have done a little image-edit job on a Certain Panel from The Power Fantasy #13 and am employing all my reserves of patience to not post it just yet.
Both of these issues have big reveals that, if you're a fan who savours the reveals in real time, you may not want risking being spoiled, so I'd suggest priortising reading them. I think they're both neat.
Happy (deep breath) DIE: LOADED #1, DIE RPG QUICKSTART and THE POWER FANTASY #13 day!

That new Absolute Batman Annual is QUITE SOMETHING. @danielwarrenart.bsky.social sure can deploy a double-page spread. Real good at page-turns, too. (This is me being analytical about the most visceral comic of the week...!)

"Tzefardea Tzedek" (Frog of Righteousness)

As soon as the Portland Frog became a meme, Jewish social media blew up with jokes about the 2nd Passover plague - tzefarde'a (frogs) - and the Rabbinical commentary around it. I knew I had to make a calligraphy piece encompassing all of it. (more in alt.)

At school Tex, 75, rough-voiced gave me his “swipe file” -his midcentury archive of 1000s of reference photos. Going thru it w/him & classmates, we found a stack of posed b&w kodak photos from 1950 of an impossibly gorgeous dancer.

I wrote about how it came to be that Millie of "My Boy Lollipop" fame recorded a then-unreleased song by Nick Drake in 1970: www.hilobrow.com/2025/10/05/s...

I note that today’s @al-ewing.bsky.social -written comics contain both a line about a $50,000 bribe and a line about a military guy getting in trouble because of his hair. There is some alarming prescience happening there.

Okay, it’s time to sell some sets of comics! Message or reply or email me if you want any of these. U.S. only; shipping is included if you get at least $50 worth. Reader sets, meaning some are pretty beaten up. I ❤️ readers. HERE WE GO.
September 22, 2025 at 8:55 PM
I'm going to be listing some more cheap sets of interesting older comics (from the '70s to the '10s) for sale soon, but if there's anything you might particularly want, drop me an email or PM. Lots of mutants, Vertigo, Morrison, Gillen, etc.

challenge for the day: when something you really like happens in mainstream comics, remember to refer to it as "editorially mandated"

There's definitely an Ultimate Nullifier in the Marvel Adventures universe, and Marvel Adventures: The Avengers (2006) #26 includes the hilarious scene in which it appears:
