I've tallied up 15 miles so far this month for Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance's 100 Miles in May fundraiser. Want to help out and ensure lifesaving air ambulance services continue in Scotland - and I'll see if I can make 100 miles this month on my trusty bikes! www.justgiving.com/fundraising/...

A medical clinic in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) is advertising on buses that they administer intravenous Ketamine to help people with depression. Given the perverse incentives of for-profit medicine, side effects and risks, is this really an alternative to therapy, CBT and other approaches?

“They won’t be able to make it to the toilet…they'll have to be wearing pads in the daytime if they work”

A 23-year-old in treatment for ketamine addiction talks to Victoria Derbyshire about the potential damage using the recreational drug can have on the bladder.

Absolutely buzzin’ after tonight’s sonic feast with @brokenchanter.bsky.social in Stirling. Scotland’s hardest working band. Smart songs, great melodies and so much talent. Great work tonight Dave, Charlotte, Bart and Martin! See you next time (I’ll that T-shirt eventually!)

#Edinburgh. Four seasons in one hour…but still one of Europe’s great capitals.

Back in the day, our team at the provincial health authority in BC proposed a flying team of critical care paramedics (c/w Specialist backup), Nurse Practitioners and nurses to help backfill #rural EDs during staffing shortages. Idea was shot down. Too radical, etc. But hey, maybe now's the time?

In the silence the ever-present past
and the ever-passing present
blend with the landscape
to make a flavoured immensity
an atmosphere so strong
that when I step outside
I feel it beat against my skin
and cluster headily round me
as I walk through it
as I breathe it
as I become it

The austere beauty of the Dava Moor (just north of Grantown-on-Spey) on a fresh and sunny February morning...nothing better.

"The job of the teacher is to create the conditions for the student to explore their incompetence long enough to learn something useful" - Seth Godin. The best way for #leaders to overcome imposter syndrome is to be curious and accept mistakes will happen as you learn. #leadership

Drive home today included a wee detour to the 127 year old Culloden-Nairn viaduct. At 29 arches it’s the longest masonry viaduct in #Scotland and used daily by ScotRail passenger services.

A bit of nature bathing this morning: up before the sunrise to visit with the Oystercatchers, Dunlins, Curlews, Jackdaws, Gulls and Pink Footed Geese at the @rspbscotland.bsky.social Culbin Sands Reserve. Just a chorus of birds and miles of white sand beach (sound up!). #Scotland

I’m often intrigued by the ‘half life’ of toxic #leadership and how long it takes an organization to recover once the dysfunction is rooted out. After the obligatory good-byes to the old regime, it becomes a huge challenge for the new team to rebuild #trust and #engagement.
