Low juv survival in Twites may drive decline in one English remnant breeding population, but wider decline more likely driven by factors affecting all age groups.

If only Bluesky was full of left-leaning liberals talking about this threat every day, instead of relentlessly attacking the only party in a realistic position to stop them at the next election.
The UK's Reform party, which is funded by the fossil fuel industry and denies basic climate science, is informing energy firms that it will terminate renewable energy contracts.
Probably no one here needs this, but just in case, what might happen if Reform got into power and actually did cancel contracts under AR7 (and let’s assume other all other renewable energy contracts)?

Spoiler: I think it would be disastrous…

Check out the brood patch on this female Wheatear in Derbyshire today. It must have been a big clutch.

I'm surprised Red Kite still hasn't nested nearby yet because the village has plenty of cats, dogs, and small children.😊

Spanish birds, but a bit surprising all the same.
I was excited to see a Kestrel make a catch yesterday.
Less so once I realised it had taken a Hoopoe.

It's Exhibition Time again, and who wouldn't want to go to Cleethorpes in March?
The wonderful Tim Whitley and his equally talented Mum have an exhibition of photos and paintings throughout March. Please do go if you can. He has also included a few photos by his mates.

Peregrine Falcon with Prey. This is the male of a wild urban pair. He has to wait for the bigger female (to eat first and maybe get beyond her take off weight) but he's taking no chances hoping to get somewhere where she won't take it back off him.
