Agree, agree, agree.
The first Thatcher govt had a majority of just 43.

Thatcher, like Starmer, was not a natural orator, but she recognised that the battle of ideas mattered.

She saw it as part of her job to go out & win the argument: to shape public opinion, not just react to it.

That's almost wholly missing today.
Has a government with a large majority ever *tried* less to impose itself and change the terms of debate?

I would love to get on the Green hype train, as its super positive and engaging. With Zack Polanski defo having his moment, but they have deeply unserious policies with regards to Defence. We are facing one of the most globally unstable periods in modern history, reflect that.@snellarthur.bsky.social

But hey, the BBC right…?
November 13, 2025 at 7:25 AM
So where is this story then BBC? If this was a labour, Tory or Lib Dem MP it would be the breaking political story today. We can’t accept that ‘it’s just baked in’ that’s how the US media reported Trump in the early days. This is not acceptable for a sitting MP. Do your damn job BBC!
Nothing on the BBC Radio news this morning. Nothing I could find on their website. This is an MP from the party whose lead in the opinion polls normally ensures them wall-to-wall coverage. She spouts racist nonsense for which even she feels obliged to apologise. What on earth are they playing at?

A fantastic turnout here in Manchester, where we have tech entrepreneurs and housing professionals together to debate and discuss the question of “Creating a tech enabled 21st century repairs service”

Rewatching Buffy, and it’s amazing how quickly the show turns from frothy monster of the week into serious drama. Third rewatch of entire series (and Angel incoming) hits very different now I’m in my 50’s Giles is cool AF, rocking his bad boy tweeds 😀

For this individual to lecture serving military on past conflicts is highly offensive to me, a combat vet and I would hope turns the stomach of US Vets. A draft dodger and a convicted felon is the commander in chief. How the mighty have fallen.
He could’ve fought, but he faked bone spurs. So someone else had to go in his place - most likely a working class kid whose daddy couldn’t afford to bribe a doctor. Now he’s talking shit about how it should’ve been fought.

Tonight’s interview in South Wales on BBC 6 o clock news just about sums up how MSM is failing us at a crucial time when democracy is under threat. The couple they interviewed weren’t even Welsh! No real engagement, lack of awareness, pushing the line ‘we are just ordinary people’

Just read a thread about the increasing trend of middle aged ‘larger gentleman’ in the US, wearing military style t-shirts with a multitude of different slogans. The OP termed them ‘Gravy Seals’ I just pissed myself with laughter 🤣 #MealTeam6

How BBC should be covering Charlie Kirk; 1.Limited coverage , since it’s not immediately relevant 2.Cover it with full context, online radicalisation & the spread of culture war tactics from the U.S. into UK discourse
But what we have is click-driven coverage that provides sensation but no substance.

I’m so done with this Angela Rayner ‘scandal’ so much Fire & Fury for what looks like a genuine error, definitely the kind of thing I could see doing. The only difference is I don’t have journos & political operatives searching through the minutae of my affairs actively looking for a ‘gotcha’

What’s the point of this? It won’t lower our gas or electric bills, we deliver approx 2% of global output. This is just pandering to those who bizarrely see investment in renewables as ‘woke’ (don’t get me started) This policy needs to be consigned to the dustbin. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
