I feel like the reason why I feel expression are dull nowadays is the constant use of hyperbolic expression. Like, if everything is exaggerated, nothing is. It used to feel like it had some meaning even if not serious, for dramatic effect. Now everyone is dramatic all the time.

I don’t think it’s stated enough how great being able to recognize you dislike something but you don’t try to make it conform to your standards AND EVEN encourage the creator to keep doing it, is. That’s some level of emotional intelligence you just don’t find so easily.
