Lori and I took turns swimming in the Akaroa bay today. We probably had no reason to worry about our phones and wallets. But taking turns allowed me to watch my wife swim. Hardly a greater joy for me. She's a smiling seal. Graceful.

As my hometown braces for the brunt of this storm, I am wishing I was there to weather it with everyone. Best thing is to evacuate to a friend's house even if you are unsure. Debris flows are no joke.

All a parent wants is for their kids to grow up and thrive. We just landed in Christchurch and we are on Jane's balcony. The kid is thriving.

I am enjoying the live feed from the Indivisible town hall meeting in Santa Barbara. Hundreds and Hundreds are there now. 4-500 outside. Estimate is that 1000 people are there. Resist!
