There are laws it’s moral to break and then there’s laws where it’s morally okay for stuff to happen to the people who pass them.

A couple of you have asked what length an SF novel should be. Here are SFWA's guidelines for the Nebula Awards:
1. Novel: Over 40,000 words
2. Novella: 17,500 - 40,000 words
3. Novelette: 7,500 - 17,500 words
4. Short story: Under 7,500 words
