Ok, Welsh people, I've only ever said it, but how would you write "Baad in bed on two chairs"?

Also ... is it only South Walian or more widely used?

There are over 100 L&D conference worldwide each year. I made a list of them so you don't have to.

In 2019 I made 5 small predictions about L&D in 2025, and one big one. I score myself 1.5 out of 5 on the small recommendations. The big one ... well I think I nailed it.

What happens now is that every dropped piece of trash, every inch of graffiti, every broken down subway train, every disappointing sandwich, every rat in Central Park, and every single crime gets blamed on Zohran Mamdani... by racists who never go near NYC.

My tip as a Londoner. Shrug and carry on.

Dolly Parton releases “9 to 5” 45 yrs ago today.

“I knew what it was like to be a working woman trying to make a decent living, trying to be taken seriously. .. I wanted a song that sounded playful on the surface but spoke to that frustration .. A song about women .. saying, ‘We deserve better.’”

Nothing on the BBC Radio news this morning. Nothing I could find on their website. This is an MP from the party whose lead in the opinion polls normally ensures them wall-to-wall coverage. She spouts racist nonsense for which even she feels obliged to apologise. What on earth are they playing at?

One feature of working at the Bar is that I come across a lot of very clever people. Of course it is a chastening reminder of one’s own limits, which is a moral good. After 34 years, I have changed my understanding of what cleverness is. /1

In 2005, I wrote an article called "Inventing Akromiya" about how the government of Uzbekistan made up a group called Akromiya to justify a massacre of civilian protesters.

Twenty years later, the US is more like Uzbekistan, and I wrote "Inventing Antifa": sarahkendzior.substack.com/p/inventing-...

In 2005, the Uzbek government invented a group called “Akromiya” to justify massacring protesters. Now I worry the US government will do the same.

Brits! I need your help on a linguistic issue.

What is the difference a NAP and a KIP?

For me, a nap is up to about 45 minutes. A kip is longer. But how long before it becomes a sleep?

I have a football-food dilemma.

Tonight it's #ENGITA.

We plan to watch.

BUT

We're also planning pizza!

Will this sway the result?

What should we do?

a) Swap pizzas for pies
b) Compensate by drinking more beer
c) Enjoy the pizza and don't be silly
d) Something else

Today on my local high street, I saw several things that warmed my heart. Here are just two:

A woman stepped off the bus and thanked the driver.

A painter waiting at the bus stop saw a tired elderly man, and gave him something to sit on.

As long as we remain kind and civil, there is hope.
