Lots of new friends migrating over lately, so it's time for a reintroduction. Normally, people do these for their books, but I can do it for book services, right? www.dominishbooks.com
Awesome bookmail yesterday. Thank you @scrimscribes.bsky.social not only for the book, but for giving us this incredible series in the first place.

For anyone else, if you haven't read Sea of Souls, I highly recommend you go check it out! This final book releases tomorrow! 🥂🔥

This is where I'd normally have a video wrapping up last month's reading, but my filming is out of commission for a week or so. I had a good month though, and you can hear more about it hopefully next week! How was your October in books?

Wife got a new doodlecats t-shirt, and I know some of you will appreciate it as much as I do!

Recommend some fantasy or sci-fi for me to look at as I put together my 2026 reading plan. I'm looking for standalones or first books in a series and I'll take a look at every rec, and add the ones I like the look of to my plan or my extended TBR.

Dear Microsoft Word,

I get that she might not always be able to find and retrieve it again, but trust me, when I say my character "looses an arrow", no, I do not mean that she "loses an arrow"!

Yours sincerely,

Dom

Diving back into The Blood Scouts today. Thanks @fantasticphil.bsky.social - and it was great to meet you in Brighton!

I chatted with one of my heroes at World FantasyCon in Brighton this weekend. @johngwynneauthor.bsky.social, you're an absolutely lovely guy and I'm glad I finally got to meet you.
My daughter was jealous that I'd met Grumpy from Once Upon a Time until I told her who you are though!😅

Fancy a chunky first-contact crime thriller? Eventide is on sale this week for $0.99/£0.89. Alternatively, pick it up on KU: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B088QDDH5W

It's TBR time! As we wind up to the end of the year, I have exactly zero books in November that count towards my 2025 reading plan! Check out the books that do make it here: youtu.be/MQIEvFw4Ht8
What's on your November plan?
November 3, 2025 at 11:07 AM
Can you believe I've never, ever been to a convention? I'm breaking that streak tomorrow - maybe see you in Brighton if you're there too.

It's finally time to discover my favourite decade for fantasy books! I've really enjoyed going through my highlights from the '80s to the present day, but which decade took top spot? Find out here:

What was your favourite decade, and was mine a surprise?

Sweet bookmail in today from @robjhayes.bsky.social! Thanks so much Rob, this looks (and sounds) great 🥂
Hammerfall, a standalone novel from Rob's God Eater Saga, is out in February, so keep your eyes peeled for my thoughts on this one!

I'm back in my quest to find my favourite decade of fantasy books. Today, I'm looking at the 2020s so far—and only having 5 years to pull from doesn't disadvantage this one at all!
youtu.be/pv8AvqCGwDk
What are your favourites, and how will this decade fare against the others?
October 20, 2025 at 10:07 AM
It's taking me a while to get through these because they are both big, intense books, but my word, they are both incredible. I'm having such a good time with my reading right now. Have you read either of these, or the first books in their respective series?

Today is the 4th anniversary of The Thirteenth Hour, the first book in my Cruel Gods series. This book went on to become a SPFBO & BBNYA finalist AND Indie Ink award winner for best setting/wittiest character!

To celebrate, I've put the ebook up for FREE for today only! 🥳

How did your reading go last month? Mine was pretty good overall, even if I had a DNF and a series I've decided not to continue with. At least there's a book of the year contender to balance those out! Check out my thoughts here:

Another month, another TBR, and for some reason I seem to be mostly reading sequels in October. Check out my plan here:

What are you planning to read?

Tides of Torment is out in November, and it's a belter. If you haven't read the Sea of Souls Saga, now's the time to check it out and see why I recommend this trilogy so highly.

I'm nearly finished, which means soon I'll have some tough decisions to make! Check out my highlights of fantasy from the 2010s here:

What surprises you here, and what's missing from your own highlights list? Is this the best decade of fantasy?

It's time for part three of my quest to find my favourite decade of fantasy - today I'm looking at books published in the 2000s! What are your highlights, and how does this decade fare against the 80s and the 90s for you?

How did your reading go? Did you find any new favourites?

This one crept up on me a bit, but it's TBR time! What are you planning to read in September? I have some fantasy, scifi, and (oddly for me) historical fiction lined up. Check it out here:

I'm back in my quest to figure out my favourite decade for fantasy books. This time, I'm taking a look at books published in the 1990s. Check out my highlights here:
