Why are people so obsessed with their OCs “doing well online” what a weird fucking metric dude if you’re not happy with your oc bc they’re not popular uhhhhhhhhhhh why are you making ocs. OCs are for yourself and anyone lucky enough to share your taste?

.hack//SIGN is so fucking special and a very good chunk of it is that the "trapped in an MMO world and percieving it as physical in a way that the rest of the cast does not" is not framed as empowering or fantastical, but as an immediate and troubling sign of dissociation
Thinking very much about how good the end of the 1st episode of .hack sign is.
Following this mystery of who this person is and why they're so distantly hostile to others, the clear grief and fear they're processing, this bug of reality constantly coming at them and them adamantly rejecting it.
