In August, I moved across the country to be a folklorist. Sometimes I think it was a huge mistake. I really don’t know what I’m doing, my apartment is a mess, and I’ve been dealing with some terrible health problems from day one. But this week things started getting better. I might make it.

I live not far from Dulles,
so I’m often looking at the flight radar to see what planes are making all that noise or if the helicopter that flew by my window is even on there. I’m so sick about the plane crash but, frankly, it feels like a miracle it’s such a rare occurrence around here.

It’s important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too.

Not all of it can be broadcast online, but we’ve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more.
