Our collaborative project #BDBORS exploring the link between nesting phenology and substrate property, is still ongoing, with collected data in Asia and America. You monitor ground-nesting birds in tropics? Then consider joining us! Contact me :) #ornithology #birds #tropicalecology

Entangled in fibers: a preliminary study of a great tit’s (Parus major) fatal encounter with anthropogenic nesting material
Animals often incorporate anthropogenic materials into their nests, a behavior that is increasingly common as human activities expand and alter natural habitats. Although such behavior in birds is ...

I recently received Principles of Soundscape Ecology as a gift. Overall, it’s a very good introduction to the science of acoustics. Personally, I’d have appreciated more on sound fundamentals and less on analysis methods. It’s great for beginners, though.

Our new article is here! Lots of hard work with detection ranges of 43 species, but nothing is ever easy when it comes to bird detectability… 🦉

This weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting Biebrza National Park in northeastern Poland. Sadly, the region is facing a hydrological drought—where there should be water, there’s only dry grass. Is this the new normal?
