Question about #sockknitting for those on #KnitSky I have Paton's Kroy sock yarn and can only get to about 7.25/inch on 0 needles. Can someone steer me to a sock pattern for that gauge, or to a finer sock yarn? Don't want to switch to metal needles to use a smaller needle, but will if I have to.

Magical Disappearing Bufflehead. Buffleheads always made me wish for a better camera - longer zoom, faster shutter. If I'd wanted a picture of droplets, though, this one isn't bad. #photography #birds

Different beach, different day, still glorious. March is a great time of year to go out there, especially if February was particularly foul. There aren't many other people thinking of the beach at that time of year. #photography #beach

Rather proud of the reverse side of my colorwork pillow. Didn't quite make it for Finished Object Friday. Still needs blocked, stuffed, and sewn before I can call it a pillow #knitsky 🧶

Under the Interstate. There is a piece of land in Downtown Hampton that lies under I 64, and is therefore not good for much. Hampton has paved it and provided benches to make a nice little park and kayak launch. This is the view across the Hampton River at that point. #photography

I wish I could remember that day. I apparently stood out in the rain for a long time. Except for the birds, this is not a scenic spot - it's a crumbled parking lot where a restaurant once stood, but it is the only accessible bit of waterfront in that area. Great Blue Heron #photography #birds

Same wet and windy day, there was also a red throated loon. Identifying all of the birds in their winter plumage is a treat.

I apparently took a walk on a wet, windy day in November of 2014. Can't remember why. Saw some birds as my reward. This is a double crested cormorant. #photography #birds

I can't post a pic for the #ShowMeYourKnits horror story prompt. I have a box of lace weight wool/silk blend somewhere safe. It's with a tote bag containing a completed but unblocked white wool scarf. I've quit looking, because I know that when I find it it will have all been destroyed by bugs.

Herbert F Smith Dahlia - introduced in 1967 by my grandfather, still available in catalogs today. Not bad for a flower bred in a backyard by an amateur. I only successfully grew it twice, my soil is too soggy. #photography #flower
