When I lived in New Haven I loved being part of the Run for Refugees on Super Bowl day. Fundraising for the race gives critical support to Connecticut's Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services as they support new arrivals through life's challenges. Pic here from 2018 w/ @blumenthal.senate.gov ✌🏻

Yesterday I visited Okinawa’s Kakazu Takadai Park (嘉数高台公園), a place where thousands of Japanese and American soldiers died in April 1945. There is still a “wall of bullet holes” (弾痕の塀), a reminder of the ferocity of the battles that killed 150,000 Okinawan civilians.
