Insightful analysis from my RMIT colleague Alexa Scarlata in @aunz.theconversation.com about the Aus gov’s newly announced streamer regulation. theconversation.com/new-laws-wil...
New laws will force streaming giants to invest in local content – but it’s too soon to celebrate
Much remains uncertain about how the legislation will practically affect streamers such as Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+.

A Protein Antibiotic Inhibits the BAM Complex to Kill Without Cell Entry
Many antibiotics are ineffective against Gram-negative pathogens such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa because they cannot penetrate the bacterial outer membrane. Here, we show that protein antibiotics calle...

Hands down the best graduation gift I received is this portrait of my dog (from my partner). My Staffy (cross) Stella was by my side through my whole thesis. Whenever I was stressed, she would demand a walk to get me out of the house and force a break.

While interviewing Australian television creatives and executives about how they negotiated queer stories in Aussie TV drama, I found a common theme: networks were worried audiences would switch off if they saw these themes. But what informed this view?

A little detour on my way to work today to collect my PhD degree certificate from Swinburne Uni. As much as I’d have loved to attend the ceremony, the timing wasn’t going to work. But that doesn’t diminish how bloody proud I am, right now.

Nice update: found out today that I passed my PhD with minor corrections from one examiner. So happy and will hopefully have those corrections addressed in a couple of weeks.
Today is officially 6 months since I submitted my PhD. It’s quite frustrating that I still don’t have examiner reports after such a long time. But I’m hopeful I’ll hear soon.
