Replaced the HOT and no dice. Next I wanna remove the whole flyback and make sure that itself is not shorted (catastrophic). I guess there’s always the nuclear option of buying a generic replacement board on Aliexpress
full disclosure: I hit the side of the TV while testing the RGB mod and killed it. Hopefully I can fix it.

After a lot of time spent this weekend, the system is almost completely functional.
It calcs cap chance (based on LV, HP, Dist, Aware) & has a fail state.
In the future, needs more camera angles and animations. Also missing the part where you compare stats afterward.

had to get rid of the GVA sadly. I loved the S-Video and component inputs but it used to be a CCTV monitor so it had burn-in and a wonky picture. Gave it away to a teenager on marketplace for really cheap so I hope they enjoy it :)
