Instructional materials were a common use of sound 78rpm recordings. Many companies recorded Morse code instruction. Italian Columbia recorded "Alfabeto Morse" a year prior to Italy entering WWII. Data now online.

Jazz trumpeter Bunny Berigan made over 20 recordings for ARC and Brunswick as a bandleader in 1936 and 1937 leading the Bunny Berigan Orchestra and Bunny Berigan and his Boys. Session data now online.

The Farmer Sisters (The Tennessee Harmony Girls) recorded 17 tracks for ARC in Jackson MS in Oct 1935. Only 2 discs were issued on Vocalion. Session data now online.

Blind Mack recorded 10 sides for Brunswick in Jackson, Mississippi in October 1935. The JAX matrix series was reserved for Jackson. Only two songs were issued on Vocalion 03167. Session data now online.

English music hall singer and comedian Vesta Victoria is known for her 1907 U.S. Victor recordings, but she recorded for six selections for Columbia ion London in 1903. Data now online.

Blues singer and guitarist Bob Campbell recorded 10 masters for ARC in 1934. Four of his seven solo recordings were issued, as were his three recordings accompanying Bessie Jackson. Session data now online.

Just an update on DAHR (pic for dramatic effect). There are several things going on in a bit of a perfect storm:

-DAHR was migrated to AWS hardware about a year ago. This change in architecture resulted in worse overall performance, and we've been working on it ever since.

Lucille Bogan, one of the most important female blues singers of the 1930s, recorded over 60 cuts for ARC between 1933 and 1935. Many were released under the name Bessie Jackson. Many songs were also sexual in nature. Session data now online.

American evangelist Homer Alvan Rodeheaver was a pioneer in the recording of sacred music. He recorded "Tell Mother I'll be there" by Charles M. Fillmore for Brunswick/Vocalion on June 16, 1925. It is now in the Public Domain. Data and audio at the link below.
