Surprise, surprise, we might be jumping the gun a bit with the whole ‘moving to Mars Mission’ (this looks like such a good read ps. w some actually well-researched insight

'A City on Mars' is a reality check for anyone dreaming about life on the Red Planet
It wasn't until maybe a year before we were done writing — and we wrote for four years — that we decided this book is actually about why space settlements aren't coming soon.

#currentlyreading David Chariandy’s Brother!

What I love most about this novel is that it combines a nuanced portrait of brotherhood with a real plot. Shows you can have characterization, poignant themes and a page-turner all-in-one 💙📚#LiteratureSky

Currently reading All the Light We Cannot See and I must say, was expecting for the male and female characters to meet at some point and I’m 2/3 through and still, nope, just have the two divergent narratives going on … #LiteratureSky 💙📚

One of my recent reads: Elizabeth Smart’s By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept

Maximalist, excessive, overflowing with emotion. Don’t think I’ve ever read anything like it and appreciate the unique voice. Also random that Morrissey was a huge fan 🕯️

Started a thing and now am trying to get that conversation going.

To the burgeoning #LiteratureSky community — Who are some of your favourite literary authors you’d recommend?

If I had to pick a few I’d say Jean Rhys, Kazuo Ishiguro, and Elena Ferrante to start 🕯️

If anyone is looking for a nuanced and insightful examination of the Israel-Palestine conflict, I’d highly recommend Conflict is Not Abuse. Read it earlier this year and the final part considers how and why Palestine has become a scapegoat due to historical trauma 💙📚

Outside of academia where I study literature and addiction, I spend a lot of time reading about the future and thinking about what it will look like. Are there any good Bluesky feeds/ communities already on this topic? If not, thinking about making my own 🔮
