Some new pics of the only Syd Barrett solo gig, circa 1970, have surfaced, and they are so cool. Jerry Shirley on drums, Dave Gilmour on bass

Cheers to anybody who has spread the word about Villager since its rerelease. This is a rehabilitation project, since Unbounders took it out of print. But I am confident, with the current strong word of mouth about it, it will be selling well enough to pay my council tax & leccy bills by May 2039.

Half watching ‘The Glenn Miller Story’. When Jive Bunny rejigged ‘in the mood’ in 1989, it was 49 years old, the same age as New Rose by The Damned.

Alt: Sam the eagle muppet is standing on a stage with a brown background. Probably enjoying some proto-prog.

Thanks mum! In 1970 she went with my Uncle to the Fotheringay gig at the RFH where Nick Drake supported. Neither of them remembered, but going through my Uncle’s stuff (he told me he remembered seeing Nick Drake another time), turns out it was fig2 . What. A. Lineup

Oh no I’ve done it again. 1968 eh? Cool that they are still displaying a two year old Kinks album, a 1985 Velvet Underground reissue and (not pictured) a 1965 Who poster that came with the 1970 ‘Live at Leeds’ album #scrooged #scrooge

#nowplaying A 10p chazza find when I was at Uni. This record *sounds* incredible, minimal miking, straight to mono I reckon.

Oh man recipe looking up is amazing now. Scrolled past the AI churn to one where Americans tell their life story and measure things in cups and sticks, found an English one but it was for a totally different cut of meat to the one I searched for…

My musical trend prediction is that there’s gonna be a huge swing away from anything obviously tweaked, which *might* be AI. That might be wishful thinking, but it’d be cool, especially at the poppier end of the industry if everyone took their cues from that Mark Hollis album.
