Are ads in the US generally more grounded/relatable than in India? It's been a month I moved to the US, and the type of ads I see are very - casual?

My thoughts after moving from Bangalore to the US for my job recently

1. Always knew roads would be great here but actually experiencing them first hand was too good. Especially coming from Bangalore. And I wasn't ready for cars going at >100kmph everywhere (1/)

I was recently reading the pragmatic engineer post about how at Linear they never use email to communicate with coworkers.
Isn't that the norm? I think the last email I sent to my coworkers is probably 6-7 years back (apart from resignation/offer letter acceptance ones)
