🚨 Breaking: President Trump announces a 35% tariff on Canadian goods, even those compliant with USMCA. This is separate from steel, auto, and aluminum tariffs. No measurable benchmarks to remove them. Mexico is spared for now.

For all the talk about USMCA surviving the tariff storm, it’s far from safe.

I told The Economist: “It isn’t about Trump recognising Mexico as a partner — it’s because of the interdependence we’ve built.” Ironically, it’s this very interdependence that Trump is trying to unravel.
