I'm seriously tired of living in "unprecedented times".
The president of the United States is extorting the Federal Reserve Board Chairman by threatening criminal prosecution if he doesn't lower interest rates.

DOJ is compromised, legacy media is cowed and Big Law is AWOL. As I wrote last year: "We are on our own."
We Are on Our Own

Post a pic of the venue where you saw your first concert and the band or artist.

Madison Square Garden

Menudo

I was between 10-12. I remember I went with my mom and we had a great time!

Thank you! Thankfully if I have to I can drive my husband to work and use his car for a few days. I'm hoping this doesn't take forever to resolve.

Update on my car. I had to tow it back to my apartment complex. The engine is dead. Apparently somewhere between when I got my oil change on Thursday and this morning, the oil filter fell out and I lost all my oil. Now I wait to see what the oil change shop is going to do about it. 🫀

Well that's not a great start to my day. Waiting on someone to come check out my car. 🫀 At least it's a quiet road and pretty out this morning.

This is coming along nicely! My first time using gel medium to get printed words on fabric. Now that I've tested it with three pieces, I can get the rest of them on the fabric today. #artquilt #quiltsky

I might do that eventually! Lol

I've had on 80s music all day while working on an art quilt. My batteries are slowly getting recharged! And yes, I danced while working!

And they are one of the main reasons we are in this boat. I can't take anything they say seriously anymore.

It's Friday! Don't let anything bring you down, or stop you from protesting in your own way. I'm still working on my own form of protest, my latest art quilt. I hope you have a productive and positive weekend! #fridayvibes

Unfortunately I have a horrible governor and we don't have a state website, we have to go to the Federal site.
January 9, 2026 at 2:22 AM
That's odd. I was told 12/15 in an email. Maybe to make sure I had coverage by 1/1? I'll have to go look again.

The problem is the open enrollment ended.

I'll be super honest. I had to go on Lexapro last year. I couldn't function, couldn't sleep, couldn't get anything done. I was spiraling hard! It has helped a lot. That and therapy. It's going to be a struggle to afford it this year without insurance, but I'm determined to figure it out.

Good morning. I'm planning on working on my art quilt today. It helps keep me sane. Find something to do today that helps you too. It's not healthy to be in a constant state of anger, outrage, and anxiety. Don't let the orange turd and his gestapo screw up your mental health.

Ugh. I still didn't know how he ever got elected As Senator. 🀬

We’re not watching this from the sidelines. We’re stuck in the same burning house. Just closer to the fire.

Anger at US power is fair. Fear of US decisions is fair. But blaming every American, especially those who are fighting, exhausted, and scared alongside you, misses the mark. /6

France is smaller than Texas. Organizing a β€œnational” revolt across 3.8 million square miles (9.8 million square km) and 330 million people isn’t just difficult, it’s logistically close to impossible. That doesn’t mean we’re complacent. It means we’re constrained. /5

We have fifty states, militarized policing, surveillance, debt, and jobs tied to health insurance.

For many people, losing a job for protesting means losing healthcare and housing. /4

Our system is rigid, slow, and stacked in ways that make β€œjust revolt” a fantasy. We don’t have a culture where mass strikes shut the country down overnight. We don’t have a centralized government you can pressure in one city. /3

Millions of us voted against him. Millions of us are terrified of the damage being done. We are not cheering this on. We are living inside it.

If you’re wondering why we don’t just β€œrevolt like the French” or β€œfix it,” here is the reality of being an American right now:

I saw this on Facebook and on Threads and I feel this is the best explanation I've seen:

To everyone outside the US who’s angry at Americans right now, especially those of us who hate Trump and feel trapped:

Please understand this. We do not elect our president the way you think we do. /1

My cats are indoor cats and we clean up after them. It's easier than a dog in an apartment, and they both look at me with love and sit on my lap wanting to be petted every evening.
