‘And it was always said of [Scrooge], that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of us, and all of us! And so, as Tiny Tim observed, God bless Us, Every One!’ Merry Christmas!🎄👼🏼🥂

Yesterday the world lost one of its greatest Dickens scholars, Professor Michael Slater MBE. He was DF President 1988-1990 and Hon Editor of ‘The Dickensian’ 1958-1977, and wrote the definitive biography of CD. His warmth and wisdom will be sorely missed. RIP Michael.

We enjoyed a fascinating talk by Professor Carolyn Oulton last night at Central DF, based on her research into the ‘Lushy’ Stepney Pickwick Club of the 1830s. Sadly the quality of the recording is poor, but it is now available on our website: www.dickensfellowship.org/index.php/ce...
