I’m Di, I write books about neurodiversity, including a memoir about growing up in the Foster Care System called Indomitable.

It’s POV stories from an Audhd-er.

Writing this book (finally) wasn’t about getting revenge on abusers; it was about taking Justice for those who never got to see it.
So they go after DEI roles (which coincidentally, are the people whose job it is to protect the workers) and people cheered. Now they’re back for everyone else else’s job too and people are surprised. Of course.

I’m in my autistic burnout cycle and my Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is hitting me pretty hard so I’ll probably wear my weighted sweatsuit and drink water today.

I just wanted to tell you in case you’re going through that too. It’s okay to feel enraged, empty and exhausted.

You don't hire autistic people so you can tell them what to do. You hire autistic people so they can tell you, wild-eyed and exhausted, what they found down the rabbit hole they stumbled down in the course of their normal work

Federal health workers are expressing fear and alarm after a website called “DEI Watch List” published the photos, names and public information of a number of workers across health agencies, describing them as “targets.”
Federal health workers terrified after ‘DEI’ website publishes list of ‘targets’
The site calls out workers who have been involved with DEI initiatives. A majority are Black.

I volunteer at my kids’ school a lot and I want to hold your hand when I say this:

There isn’t anyone you want to eff with less in this country than our teachers.

I took my kids to see the new DogMan movie with their friend the afternoon it opened after school.

So, I will be wearing sweatpants this weekend, even out of my house if I wish! 🤪

You should see me out in my community though:

Everything is mid-emergency, it’s all stuff I could make better, thus it is my responsibility to make it better and when I’m resting I feel guilty because now if it didn’t get done it’s my fault...

+ coffee.

Why, what are y’all doing? 🤪

As an autistic author: I’m super comfortable with alienating people who are performing NotC salutes, people who are apologizing for them and people who are both-sides-ing the issue.

I don’t want them to enjoy my work, and I’m comfortable being a smaller author forever so I can say so.

I regret to inform everyone that I’m having way more fun and healing my inner child by writing a fictional book than I’ve had writing non-fiction and memoirs.

It wasn’t obvious for me. Sorry for the announcement. 😅

Please remember that Sea Lioning trolls are folks who have been *trained* to draw you into a debate by pretending they ‘just want to understand’.

They will not read your examples. They will not follow your 🔗.

It’s all a ruse to waste your time and keep you busy on nonsense.

Block. 🦭

If you are a part of the #BookSky I want to follow you!

Please drop the link so I don’t miss out again on building an organic book community because of my Millennial-ness.

I’m a volunteer, autistic/adhd elementary school librarian and writer. 📚

Hey so, if I’m already taking my 7 yer old daughter and some friends to a concert tonight in the cold and the dark and potentially the snow…

…I’m good to wear a sweat suit to that, right?? 😎

Did your child lose their book collection in the Los Angeles fires? Are you a teacher at a school that lost its library or your classroom library? Whether you need one book or a whole library, we can replace your books. 📚

Everyone else, please boost this post so we can connect with those in need. 🙏

Friends,

I’m writing another book, a children’s book, so if I don’t return a text please double text.

And if I’m not where I’m supposed to be, remind me, please?

Writing mode overtakes life. ✨

Hey so, in case you needed a sign:

Write the book about your abusers even if they were family.

Don’t wait until they are ☠️

Do it now while you can watch them hide in their houses wondering who has read it.

You’re already their villain, make it worth the price.

One time when I was in college a guy I worked for was divorcing his wife because he was convinced her inability to load the silverware in the dishwasher the way he insisted upon had given their son autism. 😳

He spent weeks trying to convince me to follow and tape record her for him.

I declined. 🤬

I’ve been sick this week so my kids decided I could run a daycare for their stuffies while I’m “just at home”.

For their entertainment I’ve set up some action shots. 🤪😅

Just so you know:

I’m hilarious in a room of other autistic and/or ADHD folks. 😅😘

If you are also the face of a community doing good work out there:

There is an entire community of people behind you doing that same work with love. It’s not all on you. You don’t have to be perfect. Sometimes is okay just to ask for help.

We may be on the front lines, but we are never alone. ♥️

5: I am our elementary school’s volunteer librarian.

The Scholastic Bookfair still exists and while that brings joy to many kids, it also brings shame and heartache to children who have less.

So last year I took up a community collection of used books and started The annual Pre-Loved Book Sale.

2: When I was working as a child advocate, I met with the review board in cases of unaliving.

A lead investigator was outlining a cold case from 1999.

Cuz I was an anthropology student, I asked them about sending DNA for isotopic analysis. They did.

Now he is now remembered under his own name.

From now until the end of the year I’m going to share something cool I’ve gotten to do in my life as an Audher and former foster care youth:

When I was in college in ATL, I worked as a child advocate and helped build a program for youth transitioning out of the foster care system.

Sesame Street was so meaningful to my life I wrote about it in my foster care book, indomitable.

Sesame Street and shows like it created a space for caring, nurturing educators to impact children living in poverty and callous invisibility.

It still does today.

We absolutely cannot let it go.

VACCINES DO NOT CAUSE AUTISM.

I am Audhd.

Due to being born into poverty, I wasn’t vaccinated per the schedule; I was vaccinated when the state of massachusetts put me in the foster care system and had to establish my records.

I am done with this conversation.

Get a therapist.

Got a call from the nurse at 1:30pm.
M got the stomach bug.
Now we wait to see if it was a one-off, or if we all get taken down one by one. 🦠😷
