I realized a lot of my image ideas come from obsessively listening to a few couple songs and they then never go past a rough sketch because I constantly judge myself for not moving on to new things fast enough.

I feel this! Art is hard but the motivation to do it is so self-replenishing - nothing else quite like it
I aimed for studying either law or linguistics. Then got severely depressed in my late teens/early 20s, and art -- art was a respite that gave drive like nothing else. It connected me to the best, creative people I call my friends now
