More astute observations related to my previous post of the Euromaidan Press (@euromaidanpress.bsky.social) article explaining the 71 violations in the US/RU peace plan for 🇺🇦

I have no trust, nor respect, for this US Admin...
One plan. Six pillars of international law demolished.

Trump's Ukraine plan requires the US to violate 71 international commitments, @EerikNKross has calculated.

It systematically contradicts the legal order America built over 80 years—from the Geneva Conventions to NATO's founding treaty:
November 24, 2025 at 1:30 AM
'...the United States in violation of 71 separate international legal and political obligations, including 13 binding treaties, 23 political commitments, and 35 explicit articles and legal principles the US is bound by...'

US admin & P25 continually contradict, create chaos, and seek to profit.
What the US is committed to: Respect territorial integrity, prosecute war crimes, keep NATO open

What Trump's plan requires: Recognize conquest, grant amnesty, close NATO door

71 direct contradictions.

Went on a rant commenting on this... sad state of affairs.

Sorry, Doug (@smikooman.bsky.social), I lost my cool.

As D Mathews would say, my grace is gone...

But when it's the politicians that we are hoping to unseat the GOP in another year making these comments, I have no faith, nor respect.

A summary to add to my previous repost:
Europe’s 24-point peace plan calls for a ceasefire, third-party monitoring, and talks based on current front lines. It includes full POW swaps, return of civilians, NATO guarantees, no limits on Ukraine’s military, and control of ZNPP and key infrastructure. Russian assets funds Ukraine’s recovery.
November 23, 2025 at 7:49 PM
To the RU/US/whatever 28 point wish list, here's the counterpoint:
The Telegraph has leaked the full 24-point European peace proposal for Ukraine.

1. End the war and ensure it cannot restart.
2. Full unconditional ceasefire on land, in the sky and at sea.
3. Immediate technical talks on ceasefire monitoring with US and EU participation. 1/

Damn rights - this!
Here's a seven-point peace plan:

Minna (@alanderminna.bsky.social) sending it straight over the bleachers.

In the world of making astute observations, the Finns CAN play a mean baseball - who knew 🤷‍♂️
My favourite moments of this iteration of the ”US-Russia peace plan” were:

1. Dmitriev leaking it
2. The points admitting that Russia does kidnap Ukrainian children
3. The points including that Ukraine shouldn’t hit Moscow or St Petersburg ”without a cause”

And this!
Swedish foreign minister on the disproportionate amount of Nordic support given to Ukraine, vs rest of NATO.
November 21, 2025 at 9:44 PM
This!
It is a Russian plan launched by RU through American media as Trump's plan. Trump, taken by surprise, watched for 2 days how it unfolds and now just plays opportunisticly. If Ukraine accepts, he claims he brought peace. If Ukraine declines, it is all Ukraine's fault. Very cleverly done by Putin

'The reckoning is to come for what was done one hundred years before. The Muslims will never forget. Nor should they.'

Hospitaller, Kingdom of Heaven (2005)

At some point in the future there will be a rebalancing of the Scales of Justice for Russia.

Leaders of its people should know this.
Putin has no plan for winning in Ukraine.

His losses are catastrophic – 984k-1.44m casualties, up to 480k dead and all he has achieved is expanding NATO and wiping out a generation of young Russian men, writes The Economist. 1/

The hard part to accept, is that with near universal disdain from democratic countries of the US leadership, and a large majority hoping the that leadership changes hands, we should be careful what we wish for.

It could get worse. And by Project 2025's intentions, it will.

More crap brought forth by the US, in relation to my previous post.

Who's side are they on?
The plan would even demand that Russian be recognised as an official state language in Ukraine and that the local branch of the Russian Orthodox Church receive official status, echoing long standing Kremlin political goals.

That is going to be a no.
November 19, 2025 at 6:13 PM
Hmmm... How 'bout 'no'?

My inside voice is screaming 'hard fucking NO!!'

Maybe the USA leadership could focus on taming their own dumpster fire before spreading it around at a global scale,
FFS 🤦
RBC reports that Washington is pushing Zelensky to accept a US Russia “framework deal” that includes recognising all occupied territories, including Crimea, and restricting long range strikes so Ukraine cannot hit Russia. Sources say Ukrainians will not accept it as pressure on Zelensky grows.

As many of us, especially here in 🇨🇦, wake up to the concept of foreign invaders, and we know not how best to meet that threat, the Finns have been focussed on this for years.

The FDF consistently message their public as to what they do, and what needs to be done.

EU countries considering alternates to the E-7 Wedgetail AEW&C. Interesting, the Northrop Grumman E-2 Hawkeye is being considered as an interim choice until EU manufacturers have suitable solutions available.

For now, it appears the team at SAAB has the only worthwhile non-USA platform.

E-7 Wedgetail dead as NATO AWACS replacement. A huge shift, in particular as it is "Due to the US withdrawal" and "goal remains to have [...] aircraft operational by 2035" and "US withdrawal also demonstrates importance of investing as much as possible in European industry." Saab GlobalEye inbound?

The three pillars of US foreign policy.

Words to ensure the collapse of an empire...
Our foreign policy, if that is still the right concept, has three pillars: alienate allies, encourage enemies, and take bribes.

We keep insisting on the new & wild R&D tech for the defence sector. And paying or it!

Someone, not long ago, just used a telephone pole...

We could learn a thing or two from history 🤦
🧵 A flying telephone pole.

As a meaningful scale proof-of-concept for the HYDRA Program, a motor from the MD-1 Genie air-to-air rocket was strapped to an actual 102-foot 11,000-pound wooden telephone pole, and the contraption was launched from the sea in 1960.
