Trump & MAGA view politics via the binary of dominance vs. submission. When liberals try to be nice to them or compromise with them, they view that as submission--as a win, which only encourages their aggression. It's pure primatology with these people. ALWAYS STAND UP TO THEM

What would be the ultimate in voting rights legislation/const. amendment? Post ideas, pls.
Mine: Ending felon disenfranchisement; lowering voting age to 16; ending partisan gerrymandering; instituting some sort of instant run-off/ranked choice voting system; abolishing the electoral college. . . .

Is it football season yet? I don't really follow the sport. Who's Namath playing for this year?

Something essential to understand about the hardcore MAGA right-wing: It is fundamentally theocratic. There is zero distance between their (authoritarian) politics and their (christian nationalist) religious beliefs.

Over on the other site, MAGA folks are getting riled up over Trump's H1B proposal. Honestly, they're more worked up about that than the Epstein imbroglio.

Hey look, Trump is on TV lying again.

What was the first political rally you ever attended?
Me: Michael Dukakis, 1988.
All I remember was Rob Lowe being there.
Dukakis was a void of charisma.

Okay, re: men always thinking about ancient Rome . . . Which Roman emperor does Trump most resemble, and why?
I'm thinking either Caligula or Nero, but I'm no expert.
Discuss.

Forget the Epstein files or the government re-opening or whatever. I demand to know if we're still in a Vibe-cession.

The closer we get to a full release of the Epstein files, the closer we get to war with [ -- fill in name of country here -- ].

The fatal flaw of work requirements is that no employer is required to hire anyone. I think of this as the "third-party problem." There's a binding relationship between the provider of benefits (the govt.) and the recipient; but there's no such relationship that binds the third party (employers).

I will gladly accept a $2,000 bribe from Trump, but it won't make me change how I feel about him.

Well, maybe this will be the final nail in Schumer's coffin, politically.
AOC could replace him in the Senate.
